Fiat: rumors about Chrysler give wings to the title

Fiat's rally in Piazza Affari continues: the Lingotto stock, after posting growth of 4,4% at yesterday's close, gained 4,24% on the Stock Exchange in the morning, to 5,9 euros per share, signaling itself as the best stock in the Ftse Mib basket.

To give wings to the Fiat shares are the continuous indiscretions on progress in the merger talks with Chrysler, which will lead the group to a listing on Wall Street. CEO Sergio Marchione's goal is to have an IPO for the post-merger company, with the aim of enriching Fiat's balance sheet: to do so, however. you need to buy 41,5% of Chrysler.

In this regard, the ruling by the Court of Delaware on the 3,3% stake about to change hands will be decisive: the difference between the price desired by Fiat and that established by the Veba fund is 200 million and, if extended to the entire package , leads to a distance of about 2,5 billion dollars.

Meanwhile the Fiat 500L has begun its arrival in America, where the demand for the new Fiat model continues to grow. To do this, the productivity of the Kragujevac plant in Serbia had to be increased. Precisely this increase in productivity provided the spark for the explosion of discontent among some factory workers who, in protest against wages and working conditions, damaged thirty-one 500L during the night shift between Friday and Saturday. The damage caused to the cars would amount to around 50 thousand euros.

The vice president of the Union of Independent Trade Unions of Serbia Zoran Mihajlovic condemned the episode, however, placing the emphasis on the difficult working situation inside the factory and asking that some Serbs be included within the management of the plant, to mitigate misunderstandings and quarrels.
