Fiat, Irisbus closes its doors

End of games for the Irisbus industrial plant in Valle Ufita (Avellino), destined to close its doors. Fiat's decision came after the Dr Group renounced the purchase of the bus factory so far managed by the Iveco subsidiary. "Faced with the impossibility of completing the only solution identified - reads a note from Irisbus -, which allowed the launch of a new initiative to ensure continuity to the site, the company will be forced, against its will, to initiate the procedures permitted by law to cease operations".

According to the confederal secretary of the CGIL, Vincenzo Scudiere, "in this situation there is a need for the Government to assume all responsibility: Palazzo Chigi calls the meeting as soon as possible and reflects on the favor it does with article 8 of the Fiat, which repays the country with the closure of an important factory, the only one that produces buses in Italy”.
