Fiat inaugurates the new Serbian plant that will produce the 500L

The CEO of Fiat Marchionne and the Serbian premier Cvetkovic inaugurate the new plant in Kragujevac, where the new Fiat 500L will be produced. A full-scale production of 200 cars a year and the employment of about 3.500 people including allied industries are expected.

A plant that will produce around 200 Fiat 500Ls a year and which will give employment to 2.400 people, plus another thousand if related industries are considered. It was inaugurated today, in Kragujevac, Serbia, in the presence of Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, and the CEO of Fiat, Sergio Marchionne. 

They were present at the ceremony, in addition to the employees of the plant, about 150 personalities from the political and business world. The Kragujevac plant will produce the new Fiat city car, presented in world preview last March at the Geneva Motor Show. The 500L will be exported to Europe and other non-EU markets and the commercial launch is scheduled for the last quarter of 2012.
