Fiat, Chrysler: profits +80%, dream third quarter

In the first nine months of 2012, net income amounted to 1,29 billion dollars, compared to 509 million dollars in the same period last year – Between July and September, sales increased by 12% worldwide.

Third quarter at high speed for Chrysler, which collects profits of 381 million euros, up 80% compared to 212 million in the same period last year. In the first nine months of 2012 – reads the press release of the Detroit automaker controlled by Fiat – net income was $1,29 billion, up from $509 million in the same period last year. 

Still in the third quarter, Chrysler has sold 556 cars globally, an increase of 12% compared to 496.000 in the same period last year (for the nine months, sales amounted to 1,7 million cars, compared to 1,4 million last year). The market share in the United States stood at 11,3%, while in Canada it was 14,3%.

Il net turnover in the quarter it was $15,478 billion, up 18% from $13,067 billion in the same period last year. In the three months ending in September, the net industrial debt it stood at $693 million, a $2,2 billion improvement over last year. Also confirmed the objectives for 2012: net income of approximately 1,5 billion dollars and net sales of approximately 65 billion dollars.

Chrysler reported net sales of $48,632 billion between January and September, up 22% from $39,852 billion in the same period last year. The Detroit giant also posted operating profits of $706 million, 4,6% of revenue and 46% more than $483 million in the third quarter of 2011, thanks to higher sales volumes and price trend.
