Fiano Love Fest: from 4th to 6th August in Lapio an event dedicated to the great wine loved by Federico II

For fans of Fiano d'Avellino the wine already loved in the XII century Frederick II of Swabia and favorite, a century later, by King Charles II of Anjou appointment from 4th to 6th August in Lapio, the town in the province of Avellino for Il Fiano Love Festival. The history of the village of Lapio is closely linked to that of Fiano, grape already known by the Latin poets, cultivated in this area since time immemorial, to such an extent that it is thought that the first vines were planted in this municipality. The goal of the festival is to enhance the food and wine excellence of one of the richest and most prestigious areas of Southern Italy. The event will host the renowned wineries of the Fiano di Avellino area, which have contributed to spreading the fame of this extraordinary wine all over the world. The XII edition of the Fiano Love Fest will be a unique experience to immerse yourself in the cultural, traditional and sensory roots of this land and appreciate the skill of the winemakers, keepers of ancient traditions and a millenary winemaking culture.

There will be the wineries of Lapio Filadoro, Ioanna, Le Vigne di Rosa, Il Sole e il Lupo, Tenuta Scuotto, Terre di Nora, Terra Mia, Trodella and the guest cellars that produce Fiano di Avellino from vineyards located in Lapio: Bellaria (Roccabascerana ), Case d'Alto (Grottaminarda), Macchie Santa Maria (Montemiletto), Felice Meoli (Chiusano San Domenico) and Antica Hirpinia (Taurasi). And again, many food and wine stands where you can taste typical Irpinia dishes: Agriturismo Anila, Aperifiano, Calafià, Chef Davide Filadoro, Gerarda Ferrante, Officina del Gusto, Pescheria da Antonio, Templa Mentis, local associations that promote our territory; and again, the Dolcivendolo Lapio pastry shop, the Mastr'Antonio liqueur factory.

In one of the recently restored historic rooms, once the cellar and agricultural warehouse of Palazzo Filangieri and today the Fiano Museum, are scheduled Masterclasses dedicated to the twenty years of the Fiano di Avellino DOCG denomination, with tastings led by the journalist Luciano Pignataro and twigs president of AIS Campania Tommaso Luongo, with the technical support of the Italian Sommelier Association of Avellino, to taste the fine wines of the best vintages. Also scheduled are guided tastings and tasting tables organized by the Onav (National Organization of Wine Tasters) of Avellino, in the suggestive courtyard of Palazzo Filangieri.

Lapio is a village with an agricultural vocation with its fields planted with vineyards and olive groves: in addition to being part of the national association Città del Vino, Lapio also holds the status of City of Oil and City of Honey, thanks to the production of Irpinia-Colline dell'Ufita (DOP) extra virgin olive oil and various types of honey, including the honey of beekeeper Christian Mattei, awarded in the International Honey Quality Competition as one of the best honeys in the world.

Fiano Love Fest is also art, culture, history. In fact, it will be possible to visit the Monumental Complex Palazzo Filangieri, a noble residence that belonged to the noble Filangieri family, recently returned to the community, letting yourself be amazed by the beauty of the frescoed rooms, unique in Irpinia. It will also be possible to appreciate the sacred art of the famous churches in the historic centre.
