The prizes of the 73rd Venice film festival have been awarded: the Golden Lion for best film, the most important prize of the festival, went to The Woman Who Left by the Filipino director Lav Diaz. The Volpi Cup for Best Actor went to Oscar Martínez, the actor in El Ciudadano Ilustre; the one for the best actress instead went to Emma Stone for La La Land. The Grand Jury Prize went to Tom Ford's Nocturnal Animals.
