International Festival: documentaries from around the world in Rome

After the Ferrara Journalism Festival, the International magazine promotes a review of documentaries from all over the world and which describe the state of things in different countries. The event will take place from 9 to 14 October and entry will be allowed subject to availability

International Festival: documentaries from around the world in Rome

In Sala Cinema of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni from 9 to 14 October, International Ferrara Journalism Festival, the Italian weekly information magazine that reproduces and translates articles written by the most prestigious world newspapers moves to e Roma and returns to reflect on the great contemporary themes through the most significant documentaries from all over the world. The project is curated by CineAgency for International.

Some of the films in review describe the new America and are Alt-Right: Age of Rage presenting the new US far right, e Eurotrump which reflects on the key role at European level of the Dutch populist Geert Wilders, sufficient to trace an axis that also speaks clearly of other contexts. On the other hand, radical Islamism is analyzed with Recruiting for Jihad testifying that we are facing a political and cultural alarm that transcends ideologies.

The journey around the world continues: El country roto takes viewers on a journey to one of the most deeply crisis-hit countries in the world, Venezuela, while Kinshasa Makambo celebrates the courage of young people in the Democratic Republic of Congo who are fighting for a change of power and free elections, with Whispering Truth to Power for the first time we fly to South Africa to meet the judge Thuli Madonsela. In the tradition of the review there is no shortage of homage to the best journalism in Under the wire, a portrait of the legendary reporter Marie Colvin, who fell in the massacre in the Syrian city of Homs, and an urgent film that raises the bar and raises its gaze by asking a decisive question: What is Democracy?

Admission is free while seats last. Seats will be assigned one hour before the start of each screening. Possibility of booking reserved only for PdE Card holders.
