Art and Design Festival in Basilicata: "Ad Acerenza" 50 digital works inspired by nature and the climate

It is the first edition of a Fsummer of art in the heart of Basilicata but the interest in the Fada -Festival arts design- of Acerenza is attracting people who are intrigued by how works by international artists can be admired in this beautiful village. There are over 50 works on display until 15 August in a event that brings together art, sustainability and hospitality. Acerenza is a small town in the province of Potenza where eight old shops, closed for years, have been transformed into pop-up temporary exhibitions, for "a creative multi-sensory immersion". It affects; meanwhile, a singular circumstance. The one of Pine Fortunator emigrated from Acerenza 30 years ago and founder in New York of EcoArt Project, who put on the Fada. He returned home for a month. di lui is a non-profit organization that with these international initiatives “exploits the power of art and design to inspire attention on climate change, sustainable development and respect for nature”.

The Festival is a meditative journey inspired by the environment

Acerenza is offered the opportunity to see digital art works, projections, virtual photographic installations, NFT (non-fungible token) works in "a virtual meditative journey into the heart of the human mind, in a metaverse with the use of Oculus viewers". On Sunday 14 August, an environmental sound installation entitled Arcadia, generated by plants connected to a technological system, will transform the galvanic currents of the skin into sound. In short, a concert made with people curated by the Australian musician Sam Nester. But the event as a whole also expresses the desire to see the country repopulated by transforming abandoned houses into artistic residences, as is happening in many parts of Europe. If Berlin, for example, has destined many buildings for markets and abandoned places, for communities of painters and musicians, the same can happen for certain villages in Southern Italy. On the other hand, art is a powerful encouragement for residents to stay, as well as becoming a tourist attraction. Indeed, after the Fada 2022 edition, the development of an annual art festival project will be evaluated together with the Municipality It will be recalled that the Ministry of Culture also supports projects with similar characteristics.
