Ferrero aims at Nestlè sweets

Ferrero aims for the dessert division at the largest food multinational in the world: Nestlé. From the Dealreporter information agency came the indiscretion that the Italian group would have commissioned an investment bank to study a possible offer. The division includes products like Butterfinger and BabyRuth and collectively would be valued at about $3 billion. The Italian company declined to comment on the news.

Nestlè has put its "sweet confectionery" division up for sale in the United States. In Italy, on the other hand, he lost 15 million and now would like to halve the number of Perugina employees.

For Ferrero, on the other hand, in recent years a real revolution has begun with respect to the philosophy of the past. The position of the founder Michele (“no finance, no acquisitions”) was renounced a couple of years ago with the acquisition of the British company Thorntons and the US companies Delacre and Fanny May, a brand founded in Chicago in 1920 which only sells at a distance.

2017, on the other hand, was "an exceptional year", as defined in Alba, the headquarters. The company has strengthened its presence in Asia, after the opening of a production plant in China in 2015 the second research center for the group was established in Singapore. The share of the Asian market rose to 27%.

In the last fiscal year it reached a net profit of 800 million euros thanks to the growth of the group carried out through acquisitions.
