Ferrari: Carlos Slim new sponsor

The richest man in the world is ready to invest $30 million on Ferrari. The Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim, which has assets of $60,8 billion according to Forbes, will sponsor the cars of formula 1 of the Prancing Horse with the group brand America Mobile which controls the telephone companies Telmex, Telcel y Claro.

It is not the first time that the Mexican tycoon of Lebanese origins has entered the world of Formula 1. In fact, Carlos Slim had already supported the two compatriots Esteban Gutierrez e Sergio Perez allowing them to compete in the F1 circus. Gutierrez drove one of the two single-seaters of the Swiss Sauber team for three years while Perez was a driver first in Sauber then in McLaren and last season with Force India.

The news of the arrival of the new sponsor on the single-seaters that will be driven by Raikkonen and Vettel next year also had an impact on the fight for the role of test and reserve driver. In the 2015 Formula 1 season the test it will not be Raffaele Marciello, who grew up in the Maranello Academy managed by the engineer Baldisserri but the former Sauber driver Esteban Gutierrez. At the basis of this decision is probably the hand of Carlos Slim and his 'movildollars'.
