Ferragamo soars on the stock market in the wake of revenues

Ferragamo heats up Piazza Affari on a cold day, in which the Milanese price list, dragged down by the bankers, loses about half a point by mid-morning. The luxury stock, with an increase close to 4,5%, leads the Ftse Mib on the wave of the euphoria of the data released yesterday relating to the 2011 financial year. The fashion house boasted revenues of 986 million euros, up by 26,6% compared to 2010.

The results were determined by a huge growth in the Retail channel and by the high demand for Made in Italy in the emerging luxury markets. It is not surprising that the main geographical area in terms of absolute revenues is that of Asia-Pacific where more than a third of the group's revenues come from, with a growth of 2011% in 33,5.

The brand also recorded a 30% growth on the European market. For Ferragamo, 2011 will remain a year to remember, marked by the entrance to Piazza Affari and concluded with a record balance.
