Ferragamo launches the challenge to counterfeiting

Continue the fight of Salvatore Ferragamo against the phenomenon of forgery, which afflicts, to varying degrees, all the most prestigious fashion and luxury brands. During 2014, the anti-counterfeiting activity (conducted by the group above all in China and on the Internet channel) led to the interception and blocking of approximately 90 advertisements for counterfeit products which have been removed from online auction sites.

More than 350 illicit domain names and websites were then closed, while more than 10 counterfeit products were seized and destroyed. The Chinese customs authorities alone have confiscated over 1.500 fakes leaving the country, for an estimated value of more than seven million dollars.

“In 2014 – explained the president of the group, Ferruccio Ferragamo – we have increased the number of monitored e-commerce platforms. In China we have also increased controls in offline activities, especially in the context of trade fairs and resellers”.

Again in China, “the verdict obtained in the previous year against a high-level hotel whose shop sold counterfeit products was confirmed in the appeal – added Ferragamo -. Our commitment to the fight against counterfeiting will be further intensified during 2015, both to protect our intellectual property rights and to defend our customers' consumers. We will therefore continue our battle with great determination, intensifying online and offline controls and strengthening our actions also at Customs".
