Feltrinelli: from June solidarity contract for companies that deal with retail

It will be applied from June the solidarity contract with the three companies that make up Feltrinelli's retail (Feltrinelli Bookshops, Finlibri, Station Bookshops). The agreement will have a duration of 12 months starting from 10 June 2013; it will involve 102 stores and approximately 1370 employees with an overall recovery of 216.000 total hours per year.

The union organisations, with the Rsa/Rsu delegates, and the company delegation of Librerie Feltrinelli have identified the solidarity contract as the most suitable social shock absorber to achieve the objective of bringing productivity and labor costs back to sustainable levels. In the last two years the company – as stated in a note – has registered a 11% reduction in net sales (for the same points of sale). The company "is confident that the commitment of all those who made the agreement possible, which is necessarily transitory in nature, and of all the workers involved will make it possible to overcome the difficult economic situation and to continue the path of development and innovation already undertaken by Librerie Feltrinelli in order to consolidate its leadership position in the sector”.
