Federutility sets up a working group for in-house public companies

Four months after the referendum on water, Federutility sets up the Working Group of public companies that have ongoing direct assignments by local authorities. Coordination is entrusted to Alessandro Ramazzotti, president of Cap Holding, the public capital company that manages the integrated water service in Lombardy.

The Group's objective is to support the legislative and regulatory development process deriving from the referendum result. The repeal of some rules for assignments and measures on tariff aspects "has in fact left a vacuum of rules - explains Federutility - which further differentiates the positions of the various companies operating in the area and which it is desirable to be remedied as soon as possible".

According to Ramazzotti, “it is undeniable that the public model has had a new impetus. This corresponds to greater responsibilities, an investment to be met by guaranteeing the ability to compete, company efficiency and an industrial approach”.

Federutility associates 419 companies that employ more than 45 employees and supply water services to around 76% of the population, distribute gas to over 35% of the inhabitants and electricity to 20%.
