The 2017 general assembly of Federmeccanica elected Alberto Dal Poz as the new president of the Federation for the four-year period 2017-2021. 'I feel all the responsibility that this office entails – was the debut of the new president – all the expectations it brings with it, above all, that of continuing to nourish real hope'. The assembly was held at the Romolo Valli Municipal Theater in Reggio Emilia, where Dal Poz thanked his predecessor Fabio Storchi in his speech 'for a commitment – large, generous and intelligent – which in the space of a few years has contributed to redesigning the role and function of Federmeccanica'.
Speaking to the industrial audience, Dal Poz mentioned several times the national contract renewed in recent months: 'Today - he underlined - we are not just celebrating the new contract, but rather the elements that have made it possible to define it, as well as the meanings that carries with it': the first of these is the overcoming of that idea of 'social conflict' which marked the entire twentieth century'. The second is 'the rediscovered unitary dimension' and then the will' 'to elaborate a shared vision of the fourth industrial revolution, to evaluate its threats, opportunities and possible paths'. Finally, concludes the president, there is 'the awareness that the future of manufacturing is based both on digitization and on the centrality of the person'.
