Paolo Garonna will be from October XNUMX the new Secretary General of FeBAF, the Federation of Banks, Insurance and Finance chaired by Fabio Cerchiai. Garonna was appointed, on proposal of the Board of Directors, by the Assembly of the Federation which met today in Milan.

Full professor of Political Economy at Luiss Guido Carli in Rome, Garonna has held numerous positions in private and public, national and international organizations. In Italy, he was, inter alia, Director General of ISTAT, Chief Economist of Confindustria and then Director General of ANIA. In Garonna's curriculum numerous international positions, including that of Executive Deputy Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, of OECD Deputy DG for Labour, Social Affairs and Education, of President of the Conference of European Statisticians.

Paolo Garonna succeeds Enrico Granata, to whom President Cerchiai expressed – also on behalf of the Board of Directors and the Assembly – a special thanks for the commitment and professionalism lavished on FeBAF.
