After the excellent data recorded in the month of January, Fiat Chrysler is continuing the positive trend which sees the group's sales rise month after month in the United States. In February, the Detroit giant reported a 12% increase in registrations to 182.879 units, from 163.586 in the same period last year. Numbers that represent the best February in the last 10 years (since 2006), but also the 71st consecutive month of sales increases.

This was communicated by the group in a note in which it is specified that the Jeep, Dodge and Ram Truck brands have seen registrations rise on a monthly basis.

It should be noted that the results achieved in February exceeded the forecasts of analysts who expected an increase in sales of between 8,6 and 10,6%.

Nine of the group's models had record sales in February, including four Jeep brand models (Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Patriot and Jeep Compass). “Continued strong demand for our Jeep models helped the brand set an all-time sales record for the month of February, while Ram pickup, Ram ProMaster and ProMaster City sales were the highest ever in February.” , said Reid Bigland, chief commercial officer for the United States, underlining that “overall FCA US had the best February in the last ten years and the XNUMXst consecutive month of increases”.

Speaking of individual brands, in contrast to the general trend Chrysler, whose registrations fell by 26%. Well Dodge (+12%) and Jeep (+23% and best February ever).

The figure for Ram was very positive (+27%), while as regards Fiat, 2.993 Fiats were sold in February (the brand includes the Fiat 500, 500L and 500X), 9% less than the 3.289 of the same period of the 'Last year.

Meanwhile Sergio Marchionne has denied the indiscretion relating to the possible merger with the French giant PSA Peugeot. During the press conference at the Geneva Motor Show, the CEO of FCA closed the question: 'We are not talking to PSA Peugeot'.

Marchionne then declared that 'two new Alfa Romeo models will be launched after 2018' while, again for 2018, the group will try' 'to do its best on the goal of full employment in Italy'. Finally, regarding the month that has just ended, the manager underlined that February was 'decent for sales in Canada and the USA. Also in Europe and Italy'.
