The Jeep, Chrysler and Ram Truck brands do well, Fiat and Dodge fall back – Sales of the Fiat 500X soar.

The Italian-American giant scored 6% growth in registrations year-over-year, at 178.027 units, recording the best July since 2005 and the 64th consecutive month of sales increases. Among the improving brands, Jeep, Chrysler and Ram Truck all posted sales increases over July 2014.

Sales beat analysts' expectations, which had forecast a 4,9% increase. Looking at individual brands, Chrysler's registrations grew 10%, the best July since 2007 and the thirteenth consecutive increase, Dodge's fell 13%, Jeeps grew 23%, the best July on record and the 22nd consecutive monthly increase, and Ram's were up 1%, the best July since 2006.

On the other hand, the Fiat brand was down, with 3.235 registrations, for a decrease of 15% on an annual basis. In the first seven months of the year, registrations of the Fiat brand fell by 13% to 25.033. In strong growth, however, the registrations of new Fiat 500X which marked an increase of 197% compared to the month of June. The company expects deliveries to continue to grow in August as production ramps up.
