FCA: sales in Brazil -29,7% in 2015, but remains the leader

General Motors remain far (-32,8% to 331.051) and Volkswagen (-38,4% to 290.455) – Overall, the Brazilian car market fell last year by 24%, to over 2,12 million of units.

In 2015, FCA group sales in Brazil decreased 29,7% year-on-year, to 360.073 units, but the group still remained in first place for registrations in the country, ahead of General Motors (-32,8% to 331.051). and Volkswagen (-38,4% to 290.455). This is what emerges from the statistics released by the Anfavea builders' association.

Overall, the Brazilian car market fell by 24% last year to over 2,12 million units due to the economic and political crisis affecting the country. 

In December alone, car sales of the brands controlled by FCA decreased by 30,6%, to 35.260 units. Also last month, FCA confirmed its leadership, followed at a distance by General Motors with 33.761 units (-34%) and Volkswagen (21.736, -56,2%).

As for light commercial vehicles, on a Brazilian market that fell by 33,6% in 2015 to 357.573 units, FCA remained in the lead despite posting a 36,3% drop to 123.061 units, ahead of Volkswagen (-34,4 % to 69.067) and General Motors (-34,1% to 57.015). 

In the month of December alone, on a market down 45,9%, to 27.65 units, FCA scored -48,5%, to 8.855, ahead of GeneralMotors (4.190, -41%) and Volkswagen (4.020, - 65%).
