FCA recalls 1,33 million cars: fire and airbag danger. Here are the models

The automaker led by Sergio Marchionne is carrying out two campaigns aimed at carrying out the recall of 1,33 million vehicles due to the risk of them catching fire or having their airbags inadvertently deploy – Here are the models involved

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling more than one million vehicles worldwide.

The automaker led by Sergio Marchionne is carrying out two campaigns aimed at carrying on the recall of 1,33 million vehicles due to the risk of them catching fire or the airbags inadvertently deploying.

Through a note issued in the afternoon, FCA makes it known that as regards the airbags, the defect has to do with the electrical system which could cause short circuits that cause the airbags to open without there being a real need. At this juncture they will be 770 SUVs recalled. Here are the models:

  • 538.000 Dodge Journeys produced between 2011 and 2015 and sold in North America
  • 233.000 Fiat Freemonts produced from 2011 to 2015 and sold outside North America.

As for the fire danger, this time caused by a problem with the alternator, they will be 565 thousand vehicles recalled:

  • chrysler 300,
  • Dodge Charger  
  • dodge challenger,
  • Dodge Durango  
  • Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Also this morning Honda has announced the recall of 1,2 million vehicles in the USA due to a faulty battery sensor.
