Fca: ok Use for diesel car sales

Ok from the EPA and the Californian Arb – FCA will be able to produce and sell the diesel models of the current year, thanks to changes to the software – Marchionne: “A significant step forward”.

FCA US, a subsidiary of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles today announced that it has received the green light from the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency, the federal agency for the environment) and from the Arb of the state of California for the production and sale of Ram models 1500 and 2017 model year Jeep Grand Cherokee with 3.0 liter diesel engine.

The company communicates it through a note. “The approval of the agencies is the result of several months of collaboration between FCA US, EPA and
Arb – reads the text – in order to resolve the concerns from the agencies regarding the emission control technologies used on previous versions of these vehicles”.

The go-ahead also came thanks to the fact that the updates for 2017 include the modification of the calibrations of the emission control software, without the need for hardware modifications and FCA USA expects that the modification of the calibrations will have no impact on the declared consumption or on the performance of such vehicles”.

“The approvals announced today are a significant step toward resolving the issues raised by the EPA and ARB,” said Sergio Marchionne, Chief Executive Officer of FCA US and FCA. “We are grateful to the agencies for their commitment to working with us to achieve this important milestone. We look forward to building on this progress by making appropriate updates to the emission control software of our previous year models.”
