FCA, Marchionne: “After me? We're not looking for a superstar."

"We have a large group" of managers that "we are analyzing, the time has come to do it". These words are spoken by Sergio Marchionne himself, the current CEO of FCA, who has already started today to deal with the future of the Fiat Chrysler group from 2019 onwards, i.e. from when he has left the helm of the company. The choice of successor will be very important to confirm the important results achieved over the years, numbers and strategies that have allowed the company to be relaunched.

“We don't think of a superstar who doesn't work hard. It's not an easy life, but we look at people from the inside out because we've grown up a certain way, this is a fundamentally different company than 4-10 years ago and it's easier when we speak the same language. We know the details and we see them on a daily basis ”, explained the manager in response to journalists who asked him who will be his successor and if he will come from within the group or from abroad.

The totonomi has therefore already started. Not only that, we already think about the details too. On the possibility that his powers are divided among several managers, Marchionne said: “my role is not easy, it is heavy, it should be lightened in some way. It is an issue that must be discussed in the board and it is also my problem, I have put a lot of effort into this work and I am a shareholder".
