The water bonus is finally operational, the facilitation that many have renamed bonus taps or, again, bonus shower and taps. The Minister of Ecological Transition, Roberto Cingolani, signed the implementing decree which defines the contours of the contribution, establishes the admission criteria and identifies the audience of beneficiaries.
TAPS BONUS: WHAT IT IS
This is a contribution provided for by the 2021 Budget Law, designed to reduce water waste and save resources. The bonus is intended for those who decide to carry out water efficiency works, changing the bathroom fixtures, taps and shower heads. At the disposal of taxpayers, until resources are exhausted, there will be 20 million euros deriving from the Fund for saving water resources.
TAPS BONUS: WHO CAN REQUEST IT
The bonus can be requested only once and for only one property. Applicants may be:
- the holders of property rights of the property;
- holders of other real rights on existing buildings;
- the holders of personal rights of use on parts of existing buildings or individual real estate units.
THE ADMITTED INTERVENTIONS
The bonus can be requested by those who replace old ceramic sanitary ware with new reduced-flush sanitary ware, by those who "update" their taps, shower heads and shower columns with new appliances that limit the flow of water.
In detail, the bonus covers the costs for the supply and installation of ceramic toilet bowls with a maximum flush volume equal to or less than 6 liters and the related flushing systems, including the associated plumbing and masonry works and the disassembly and decommissioning of pre-existing systems. Also eligible are the costs for the supply and installation of taps and mixers for bathrooms and kitchens, including devices for controlling the flow of water with a flow rate equal to or less than 6 liters per minute, and shower heads and shower columns with values of water flow equal to or less than 9 liters per minute, including any connected hydraulic and masonry works and the dismantling and disposal of pre-existing systems.
THE MAXIMUM BONUS AMOUNT
The maximum amount of the bonus is equal to 1.000 euros per property and is valid on expenses incurred from 1 January to 31 December 2021. As mentioned, the Government has allocated 20 million euros until exhausted. So those who intend to take advantage of the discount will have to act quickly, because the acceptance of applications depends on their order of arrival. If the application is sent when the resources are exhausted, you will be left with nothing in hand.
It should also be emphasized that the relief does not constitute taxable income of the beneficiary and is not relevant for the purposes of the equivalent economic situation indicator (ISEE).
TAPS BONUS: HOW TO REQUEST IT
