"Made in Italy", another 250 million in loans from Unicredit

Three years after the signing of the agreement dedicated to "Made in Italy", UniCredit and the Florence Center for Italian Fashion today took stock of the joint activity carried out in the last three years in support of businesses, with the aim to support, through a dedicated offer of services, Italian SMEs in the sector, which produce exclusively in our country, giving work in Italy and enhancing the Italian style. “The results of this agreement are going well beyond expectations and we are convinced that this work will continue to bear fruit in the future – said Gabriele Piccini, Country Chairman Italy of UniCredit – Our commitment consists in giving support to the “Made in Italy” , or to that system of companies that offer jobs and professional and productive opportunities within our country.

The partnership between UniCredit and the Florence Center for Italian Fashion should be read precisely from this point of view. This collaboration was born in 2013 and today we can already draw a positive balance of these first years of collaboration. In fact, if in the first year our Bank had disbursed almost 100 million in new loans to companies indicated by the CFMI, in 2014 the new finance disbursed by UniCredit to the sector amounted to 400 million euros, of which over 150 million related to companies reported by the Florence Center for Italian Fashion. In the first half of this year, 250 million have already been disbursed to the entire fashion sector, of which over 100 million to the companies indicated by the CFMI”. Also as part of the project, support was offered by a network of specialists dedicated to over 200 SMEs with turnover between 10 and 100 million euros and 130 strategic projects and plans were also evaluated and developed together with some selected customers industrial.

Finally, approximately 50 M&A and Equity scouting mandates were acquired with the disbursement of new medium-term finance on investment plans, internationalization and extraordinary operations for over 250 million euro. “I express my full appreciation for how UniCredit wanted to share the project to support Fatto in Italia right from the start. I thank the heads of the institute, Ghizzoni and Piccini, for having made a dedicated structure available to us, thanks to which we have achieved results that exceeded expectations” declared Stefano Ricci, president of the Florence Center for Italian Fashion.
