Sanremo 2025 is now upon us and, together with the Festival, one of the most anticipated events for enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts also returns: the FantaSanremo. Born in 2020 in a small provincial bar, this online game has now become a parallel tradition, capable of uniting veterans of the event and the curious who just want to have fun. From Tuesday 11th to Saturday 15th February, the teams will challenge each other by following every moment of the 75th edition of the Italian Song Festival, including performances, unexpected events and epic moments.
With 1,7 million registered users and over 350 thousand private leagues, FantaSanremo is confirmed as one of the most followed games in Italy. But be careful: the regulation 2025 brings some important news.
FantaSanremo: how the game works and what's new for 2025
Taking part in FantaSanremo is simple: just register on Official site by 23pm on Monday 59 February and create your own team choosing 7 singers among the 29 artists competing (Emis Killa has retired), respecting a Budget of 100 Baudi, the game's virtual currency inspired by Pippo Baudo.
The big news this year concerns the composition of the team: each player will have to select 5 Owners (who get points through bonuses and penalties) and 2 Reserves (who contribute only with extra bonuses). Before each evening of the Festival it will be necessary line up the formation, a mechanism that closely resembles fantasy football.
Another important change concerns the role of the Captain (whose points are doubled). In the past, the choice of Captain weighed mainly on the final night, but in 2025 it will have a decisive role every night. In addition, it will be possible to change it daily, within the time slot between 8 and 20.
Fantasanremo: how to win points in the standings
The goal is to accumulate the greatest number of points e Climb the charts, both general and private. Points are obtained in different ways:
- Placement final: the winner of the Festival brings 100 points, the second 75, the third 60 and so on, with increasing penalties for the lower positions. The last classified, instead, receives a bonus of 30 points, an ironic touch to "digest the defeat".
- Awards in the evening: extra points for those who win awards such as the Critics' Award or the Press Room Award.
- Bonus of behavior: funny or unpredictable moments on stage can award extra points.
Bonus and Malus Points: Every Detail Counts
But what makes FantaSanremo unique are the bonuses and penalties linked to the most unpredictable performances and episodes. Every gesture or incident on the Ariston stage can turn into an opportunity to accumulate points or lose them dramatically. For example, a simple “high five” to the statue of Mike Bongiorno gives +10 points, as does the use of flames, real or fake, during a performance. On the contrary, a fall on the famous steps results in -30 points, while wearing an all-black outfit costs -5 points. For those who lose their minds live with a curse, the bill is very high: -66.6 points.
If there is any doubt about an event, the Score Team² intervenes, evaluating each situation in a professional and impartial manner. Everything that happens to the artists from the first minute of the Festival until the end of the live broadcast of the last evening is valid for the calculation, while what happens before or after does not count for the purposes of the score.
Each evening brings with it a list of bonuses and penalties that remains secret until a few hours before the start, adding a touch of mystery and strategy. On the cover evening, guests and featuring artists can also influence the scores. Finally, for those who choose the right Captain, everything counts double: from the 20 bonus points for placing in the top five of the first four evenings to the points in the final ranking.
And what happens to unforeseen circumstances? If an artist cannot perform live and uses a pre-recorded performance (remember Irama in 2021?), bonuses and malus will still be assigned. But if he withdraws before the Festival begins, the artist will score a resounding zero.

As reported by the Republic, Achilles Laurel is the most popular name: he is the favorite Captain and the most "expensive" in the game. Right behind him we find Elodie, irama e rkomi, protagonists of iconic moments in past editions, while Rose Villain e Willie Peyote These could be the surprises of 2025.
According to the bookmakers, the teams competing for the victory and the 100 fantasy points will be: Giorgia e Olly, followed by Achille Lauro and Irama. One step further back we find Elodie, Fedez e Cristicchi, which according to some has the best text of the Festival.
