Facebook loses ground in North America, the UK and Türkiye

Is Facebook starting to falter? Too early to tell, but some cracks in the success story are starting to open. In May, the social network lost six million users in the United States, the market where it created its success. It also lost ground in Canada, the UK, Norway and Russia.
Facebook, however, continues to grow worldwide. In May, global users increased by twelve million units, reaching 687 million. The leap forward is due to Brazil, Mexico and India, which, therefore, offset the losses in North America and other "mature" markets as regards the presence of Zuckerberg's network. "When Facebook reaches about 50% of the total population in a given country - underlined Eric Eldon, of the Facebook staff -, growth generally suffers a setback".
