Last night with markets closed, Wall Street collected the most important corporate data of the day: Facebook it beat expectations both in terms of turnover (+ 61%) and the expansion of mobile advertising (+151% compared to a year ago), where it now counts on 1,5 million advertisers. 

The company ended the second quarter with net income up to $791 million from $333 million in the same period last year, while revenues increased to $2,91 billion (from $1,8). . 

“We had a good quarter. Our community continues to grow and we see many opportunities,” said Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Overall, advertising revenue rose 67% to $2,68 billion. Mobile advertising accounted for 62% ($1,66 billion) of revenue for the quarter. In the first three months of the year, it accounted for 59% of total advertising revenue. The figure indicates a significant orientation towards mobile use by users.

Worldwide subscribers to the social network are one billion and 320 million, over two-thirds of whom connect to the service every day. On average, 829 million people used Facebook every day in June, 19% more than in 2013. The number of those who log on at least once a day from mobile devices was an average of 654 million people in June (+14%).

In trading after the Stock Exchange, the title shot up by an abundant 5%, to new highs.
