Facebook: confidence at peak, Zuckerberg beaten by Yahoo!

According to a Reuters/Ipsos research, just 41% of Americans trust Facebook, compared to 66% of Amazon, 62% of Google, 60% of Microsoft and 60% of Apple – Even Yahoo, battered by scandals in the recent years, inspires more confidence than Zuckerberg's social network, which yesterday slipped on a hallucinatory internal memo

Facebook: confidence at peak, Zuckerberg beaten by Yahoo!

After the Cambridge Analytica scandal, trust in Facebook has plummeted. This is confirmed by a survey conducted among American citizens by Reuters/Ipsos. The research shows that the social network founded by Mark Zuckerberg has sunk even under Yahoo, which even in recent years has been hit by a hail of hacking attacks and subsequent scandals for the data breach of as many as three billion users.

But let's get to the numbers. According to the analysis, regarding the ability to protect privacy, trust Facebook just 41% of Americans. A share far smaller than that of many other high tech giants. Amazon, for example, is at 66%, Google To 62% Microsoft to 60% e Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), (which has recently announced some news on the subject of privacy) to 53%. Yahoo is below half, at 48%, but still six percentage points above Facebook.

In recent days Zuckerberg has publicly apologized with its users for the flaw in the system that allowed the British company Cambridge Analytica to illegitimately access 51 million Facebook profiles. But this time it seems that American citizens are not willing to be lenient with the most popular social network on the planet. All the more after yesterday's new slip-up, when a shocking memo from the former Facebook vice president was found which said that "social media can kill but Facebook must grow at any cost". Zuckerberg immediately distanced himself by saying that "the end does not justify the means" but now the credibility is lost.
