Facebook would have an important novelty in the barrel that could revolutionize the way of inform on the internet. According to the Wall Street Journal, the social network founded by Mark Zuckerberg is signing some agreements with important international publishers and newspapers for the publication of exclusive content directly on the Facebook news feed.
The project is called 'Instant Articles' and, according to the WSJ, it could kick off as early as this month. With this project, Facebook's primary objective is to retain its users for a longer time on the platform, avoiding redirection to external links as happens now.
According to rumors from the WSJ, Facebook has already involved important portals and newspapers such as Buzzfeed, National Geographic and the New York Times. But what would be the advantage for publishers? It seems that Facebook has proposed the Instant Articles project to large publishers, guaranteeing them the 100% of revenue will come from advertising which will appear on unpublished articles. But it is not yet clear what forms of advertising will be adopted by Facebook with this new project and not even how Facebook will include this particular type of news on each home page (Timeline).
