Valtteri Bottas took pole position at the Bahrain GP. The first Easter surprise was therefore given by the Finn who thus responded to the criticisms of those who accused him of not having given Mercedes a contribution comparable to that of Nico Rosberg so far. In the third qualifying of the season, Valtteri clearly beat Lewis Hamilton and for the first time in his career he will start in front of everyone in a race that will still have Ferrari among the protagonists.
However, the reds have disappointed expectations and remained behind: Sebastian Vettel is placed in the second row. Kimi Raikkonen's fifth place behind Daniel Ricciardo's Red Bull, among other things, confirms that the Finn is not experiencing an exceptional moment.
