Ey awards Marchetti: CEO of Yoox entrepreneur of the year

Federico Marchetti, Chief Executive Officer of Yoox Net-A-Porter, is the National Winner of the XXth edition of EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The prestigious recognition, promoted by EY with Azimut Wealth Management, is reserved for entrepreneurs leading companies with a turnover of at least 25 million euros and who have been able to create value, with an innovative spirit and strategic vision, contributing to the growth of the Italian economy .

The CEO of Yoox was awarded, as can be read in the motivations, "for having created, with an original intuition and making the most of the possibilities offered by the web and technological innovation, a reality that in just a few years global leader in the luxury-fashion e-commerce and first Italian technological company with a capitalization of over three billion euros”. As National Winner, Marchetti will have the opportunity to compete for the "World Entrepreneur Of The Year", which will be awarded during a ceremony in Montecarlo in June 2017.

“Italy, home to innovators and talents, has given us a great competitive advantage to grow and then expand into 180 countries around the world. I dedicate this Italian entrepreneur of the year award to young people: doing business in our country is possible – commented the winner – I would like to share this recognition with my courageous team that accompanies me every day on this adventurous journey.”

Representatives from the world of business, finance and institutions attended the Awards Ceremony at Palazzo Mezzanotte, including the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Louis Casero, the President of the Region Roberto Maroni and the Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala.

“The Government considers the ability to do business one of the strengths on which to focus in order to relaunch our country” declared Deputy Minister Luigi Casero. “The strong support given to entrepreneurs must become one of the consolidated elements of the Italian economy. Actions to reduce the tax burden to encourage development through the introduction of super-depreciation and hyper-depreciation, the reduction of corporate taxation to one of the lowest values in Europe and the new rules on the certainty of tax law must be supplemented by further reductions in the tax burden. But they already demonstrate a concrete will to implement the absolute conviction of making the company the center of the engine of the country's development”.

In addition to the Entrepreneur of the Year award, a few others were awarded. The Start up Award, a recognition introduced last year with the aim of giving visibility to young entrepreneurs, was awarded to Civitanavi Systems, a company from the Marche region created by Andrea Pizzarulli which develops, manufactures and markets navigation systems based on proprietary fiber optic sensor technology. The EY Special Award went instead to Luigi Lazzarin of Latteria Montello Spa for the Nonno Nanni brand.
