Export Made in Italy, SOS Assocamerestero

Sos for Italian exports. Assocamerestero raises the alarm to the Government for urgent support also for the Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad (CCIE), essential for the promotion of Made in Italy and for the enhancement of the Italian business community in the world. The CCIEs have always been self-financed on the market, but the global crisis caused by the Covid-19 has jeopardized not only the numerous initiatives already planned, but the entire activity of the chamber system.

Despite the blockage of activities, all the Italian Chambers abroad together with the Assocamerestero Association, have done their part to help Italian companies abroad, with various models including webinars and virtual meetings with potential distributors.

But more funds are needed. For this reason, Assocamerestero addressed the Government directly, sending a letter to the Prime Minister on behalf of all the CCIEs, on which it underlined the need for concrete attention to be paid to the economic provisions of the "Relaunch Italy" Decreeextraordinary contribution of the 81 CCIE network operating in 58 countries in favor of almost 70 exporting companies, in close connection and connection with the Italian chamber system, as also required by various agendas approved by Parliament itself.

In first place, among the services of the CCIE, there are those of business scouting for positioning on the foreign market, with 35% of the services provided, followed by networking activity for 25% and from the organization of missions by foreign buyers in Italy for 20%.

Furthermore, the activity on the CCIE market allows you to multiply by over 5 times the reduced state contribution, but the global crisis caused by the Coronavirus risks undermining its efficiency, when there would be a need for greater operations.

There are several initiatives put in place during the health emergency, in addition to supporting the procurement of essential medical material for our country, they have been implemented over 300 information, training and assistance actions for businessesthanks to the digital network. And at least 350 more are scheduled by July.

Exports account for almost a third of the value of GDP, but according to the latest estimates a 14% reduction is expected in 2020. The vitality of the internationalization process is closely linked to the ability of our SMEs to maintain competitiveness abroad in the post Covid-19 scenario.

"In this phase, therefore, it is more urgent than ever to guarantee the effectiveness and full operation of the network, which is precious for businesses and for the country as a whole" - he declared Gian Domenico Auricchio, President of Assocamerestero.
