Expo: Nutella record baguette, the longest in the world

The Nutella baguette arrives at the Expo: the longest in the world. The achievement of the primacy was certified by the Guinness World Record jury. 122,40 meters long, the baguette – the traditional long, narrow Parisian bread – was cut into over 2400 slices, spread with Nutella and distributed to visitors to the exhibition.

The new super baguette surpassed the previous record for longest baguette in the world (111 meters) held by the Big C Supercenter supermarket in Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam) in 2009.

The initiative was organized by Ferrero, who with this symbolic gesture wanted to reaffirm the traditional union between bread and spreadable cream in the context of the Milanese exhibition dedicated to food and nourishment. The event was also attended by the sole commissioner of Expo Giuseppe Sala, who passed by to give his greetings to the bakers.

The process required six hours of preparation: the bread was arranged on a very long ribbon and cooked using a self-propelled oven. A team of 20 bakers from the Proloco di Magliano d'Alpi and seven 'artisans boulangers' take care of the dough and baking. “Not everyone knows that Nutella is extremely popular in France, even more is sold than in Italy – said the president of Ferrero, the ambassador Francesco Paolo Fulci.

This is the reason for a gesture of union with the French neighbors that marked the definitive end of the controversy after the words (and subsequent apologies on Twitter) of the French Minister of Ecology Segolene Royal on the alleged harmfulness of the spreadable cream.
According to Fulci, today's event has created another "meeting point, or rather another tunnel, stuffed with Nutella, between our two countries".
