Exor-Fca first in Italy for revenues, Enel surpasses Eni

For the second consecutive year, Exor-Fca leads the ranking drawn up by the Mediobanca Research Office in the report "Major Italian companies" from the top of 136,4 billion euros in revenues in 2015, while Enel is second in terms of turnover , goes first for profits. Eni, after having been the first in terms of revenues for 13 years until 2013, also loses second place and slips to third place. Exor-Fca in confirming the primacy for turnover, takes leave of the ranking, which only takes into consideration Italian legal entities, given the expected transfer to the Netherlands. Domestic sales of the group account for just 6,8% of turnover, with an increase of 0,7% on 2014, while foreign revenues rise by 12,4%. Enel overtakes Eni with revenues of 74 billion, slightly down (-0,3%) reflecting the foreign market (-0,9%). Eni (-27% turnover on a like-for-like basis at 67,7 billion) is paying for the contraction in the price of crude oil (-47% in 2015) and the deconsolidation of Saipem and Versalis.

At unchanged perimeter Eni would still have a turnover of more than 80 billion. The fourth place remains the prerogative of Gse, a public company that carries out electricity trading activities, with revenues of 30,6 billion, ahead of Telecom Italia, fifth with 19,4 billion in turnover and Leonardo-Finmeccanica, sixth with 13 billion. Saipem, seventh, precedes Edizione dei Benetton which, with revenues of 11,4 billion, rises to eighth position from tenth to the detriment of Edison and Esso Italiana. For the Benetton conglomerate, growth comes mainly from the foreign market (+11% against +0,9% domestic) and the stability of infrastructure and services for mobility (+4,3%) and the growth of catering (+8,5, 1,6%) offset the slight decrease in clothing (4 billion). Luxottica climbs 11 positions and is 8,8th with sales of 15,5 billion, up XNUMX%.
