Excellence: Italian haute cuisine is presented in Sottsass' Nuvola

Four days dedicated to the relaunch of Italian food and wine: from 10 to 13 November, expanded – and with important new features – Excellence returns, a cooking congress, a fair of Italian excellence and cooking shows by great chefs between experimentation and research at the Rome Convention Center La Nuvola, the imposing Congress Center by Ettore Sottsass.

As per tradition, the event will turn the spotlight on the great themes of food and wine made in Italy by hosting cooking shows, round tables, tastings, talk shows, B2B and B2C meetings, but also chefs and companies among the most important in the sector at national and international level . Without forgetting institutional bodies, professional training schools, dining and cooking schools, business associations, buyers, opinion leaders, journalists, F&B entrepreneurs, sommeliers and restaurateurs.

Creativity, experimentation and business are therefore the hallmarks of the packed calendar of Excellence 2021 activities

Over 80 chefs – many of whom are starred – will be protagonists of the cooking performances that will take place in three different areas: Food Experience, Food Innovation and Excellence Stars Restaurant. And this is the big news. A temporary restaurant that will see four great starred chefs alternate, such as Iside de Cesare (La Parolina*), Daniele Lippi (Aquolina*), Giuseppe di Iorio (Aroma*) and Andrea Pasqualucci (Moma*) who will offer three tasting menus each.

About 100 exhibiting companies, including artisans of taste and high quality industrialists, lined up in the futuristic congress structure which will also host various Italian wine cellars, some of which will be protagonists of the We Love Tasting tasting space.

The Race to The Stars contest in memory of chef Alessandro Narducci is back for the 3rd year (a competition reserved for young chefs under 30 born or resident in Lazio) organized in collaboration with the Lazio Region and Arsial to be held on Friday 12 November. The winner will have, as a prize, an internship in a starred kitchen.

In terms of confirmations, we must mention the 'outside show' Excellence Off: two dinners dedicated to haute cuisine and great Italian wines, scheduled for 9 and 11 November (for a fee and by reservation until sold out places) that will allow you to experience a real food experience in full Excellence style. We will start on the 9th with Francesco Apreda of Idylio*.

“This year Excellence takes on a different value. We are in the post-pandemic era and we intend to offer the entire food and wine sector of the country - with an analytical, proactive approach and aimed at new technologies - the tools for the rebirth and relaunch of the sector." – explains Pietro Ciccotti, organizer of the event and editor of Excellence Magazine – Everything revolves around two cornerstones that we consider fundamental: the territory and sustainability.”
