Ex Ilva, 400 million to restart: this is what the three-phase plan will look like

The three-phase plan involves the reactivation of a second blast furnace in Taranto, with an economic intervention of 400 million euros, and the objective of reaching 4 million tonnes of steel produced per year by the end of the year. Il restart plan offormer Ilva is divided into three phases: "construction site" phase, 1 blast furnace phase with orderly management and 2 blast furnace phase with orderly management. As Italian steelworks under extraordinary administration in a note after the meeting with the trade unions, explaining that the "pillars" on which it is based the relaunch project are: the restoration of identified plants, with an economic intervention of around 400 million euros (80% in Taranto); management of a production plan that starts from 1,5 million tons/year and reaches 4 million tons/year after the summer, with the start-up of the second blast furnace in Taranto.

Also in Taranto, a hot rolling train will be active, while all the cold rolling will go to Genoa, reaching 450.000 tons per year after the summer and 600.000 tons per year in Novi Ligure; therefore a streamlined and efficient organization and finally a balanced and supportive management of the workforce, also through a specific program to improve the skills and professionalism of workers. To achieve the objectives set in restart plan, Adi “hopes for strong collaboration and participation of all parties involved”. And to this end the company "has identified a series of tools that will be detailed, with the aim of reaching a formal agreement with the unions by mid-June".
