Eurozone: confidence rises, producer prices fall

In February, the Sentix index climbed back to -3,9 points, from -7 in the previous month: it is the best data for 19 months, but remains lower than expected – Data on producer prices in the Eurozone instead arrive from Eurostat, in December they recorded a decline of 0,2% on month.

La investor confidence and the analysts ofEurozone rises to a 19-month high, but still disappoints analysts' expectations. in February theSentix index it recovered up to -3,9 points, from -7 the previous month. It was the sixth consecutive month of gains and the best reading since July 2011, but analysts had forecast an improvement to -3 points. The expectations sub-index improved again after last month's jump, moving from +12 to +15,8 points, while the current sentiment sub-index rose from -24,3 to -21,8.

Instead, data on the producer prices of the Eurozone, which in December recorded a drop of 0,2%, after the -0,2% of the previous month. In this case, the figure is perfectly in line with analysts' expectations. On an annual basis, however, there was an increase of 2,1%, as in November. 

Even broadening our gaze to the entire European Union, prices showed a drop of 0,2%, after the -0,2% of the previous month. On an annual basis there was an increase of 1,9%.
