In August, industrial production in the Eurozone increased by 0,6% compared to the previous month. This was communicated by Eurostat. The figure is well above the consensus of analysts, who forecast a -0,5%. On an annualized basis, however, industrial production fell by 2,9%.
In Italy, production increased by 1,7% compared to July, but on an annual basis it fell by 5,2%, the worst figure among the countries of the Eurozone followed by that of Spain -3,2%.
The production of durable goods increased by 3,9% in the EU17, that of non-durable goods for the consumer by 1,3%, the production of energy remained unchanged, while 0,6% of goods were produced intermediate more than in July.
