In a monthly comparison, industrial production in the Eurozone is slowing down, which however shows clear growth on an annual basis. This was revealed by Eurostat. In fact, in January, production in the currency union recorded a decrease of 0,2% on December and an increase of 2,1% compared to January 2013. In the EU as a whole, on the other hand, production recorded a growth of 0,1% on a monthly basis and 2,4% on a trend basis.
In comparison with December, the growth of Italian production stands out, +1%, while Germany and France respectively mark +0,4% and -0,3%. In the annual comparison, Italy reports an increase of 1,4%. Germany +4,2%, France -1,4%.
Compared to December, energy production fell by 2,5% in the Eurozone, while the sharpest growth was that of capital goods, +0,9%. In an annual comparison, the production of capital goods increased by 5,8% while that of energy fell by 4,4%.
