Eurozone: Services PMI rises to 51,6, but Italy is in the red

Services activity slows down in Italy, while the Eurozone restarts. The PMI index relating to our country fell to 49,4 points in the month of December, against 51,8 in November, thus returning below the fateful level of 50, which separates expansion from contraction. The figure relating to the currency union showed growth from 51,1 to 51,6, slightly down on the preliminary estimates.

The composite PMI index of the Eurozone also increased, rising to 51,4 in December, from 51,1 in November. Again, the figure stood slightly below the preliminary estimates.

Above all, China accelerated in December, whose PMI services index rose to 53,4 points in December from 53 in November. According to the final data released by HSBC-Markit, this is the largest growth in the last three months.
