Still negative macro data fromEurozone, which in June saw the index of industrial production drop by 0,3% compared to July. This was announced this morning by Eurostat, specifying that the result disappoints the estimates of analysts, who on average had forecast a growth of 0,4%. On an annual basis the index is unchanged.
Furthermore, Eurostat has not revised the May figure, which showed a contraction of 1,1%. The decline in June was determined by -1,9% in non-durable consumer goods and -0,7% in the energy sector. The capital goods segment is unchanged, while intermediate goods register +0,4% and consumer durables +2,3%.
As for individual countries, the main negative changes concern Ireland (-16,5%), Holland (-3%) And Lithuania (-2,7%). The largest increase is in Malta, with a +5,2%. Among the main countries, the best performance is from France (+1,4%), followed byItaly (+0,9%). In Germany the index improves by 0,2%, while in Spain is down 0,8%.
