The Eurozone composite PMI stood at 52,8 in June, marking a slight decrease from the previous month in May, when the index had risen to 53,5. This was announced by Markit and the data confirms the previous flash estimate. According to Chris Williamson, Chief Economist at Markit, "at first glance, the June survey data raises concerns that the eurozone's recovery is already running aground."
However, adds the analyst, “digging deeper there is room for optimism. We should not lose sight of the fact that, despite the slowdown, the June data consolidated the best quarter for three years.
