Eurozone: unemployment and inflation are declining

According to data released by Eurostat, unemployment in the Eurozone stood at 11,5% in June, down 0,1% compared to May – Inflation was also down, at 0,4% in July compared to 0,5% recorded in June.

Unemployment falls slightly in the Eurozone. According to data released by Eurostat, in fact, the unemployment rate in the currency union stood at 11,5% in June, down by 0,1% compared to May. This is the lowest level since September 2012. Youth unemployment is also decreasing.

The total number of jobless fell in June from the previous month by about 152.000 to 18,4 million. In the 28-member EU, the unemployment rate stood at 10,3% in June, up from 10,2% in May.

Again according to Eurostat, inflation is still falling in the Eurozone. Indeed, in July, according to flash estimates, inflation stood at 0,4%, down from the +0,5% of the previous month. Analysts had expected a stable figure compared to that recorded in June.
