Eurozone, record unemployment: 12,1%. Italy stable, Germany worsening

According to what was communicated by Eurostat, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the 17 eurozone countries rose to 12,1%, retouching the previous historical record of February - Italy stable at 11,5% (Istat data) while Germany in the last month has 4 thousand more unemployed.

Record unemployment in the eurozone. In March, reports Eurostat, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the 17 eurozone countries rose to 12,1%, retouching the previous historical record of February (12%). Unemployment inEuropean Union at 27 members it was instead stable in March (10,9%).

THEAustria is the country with the lowest unemployment (4,7%), the Greece bringing up the rear (27,2%). The unemployed in the Eurozone are 19,21 million in total, in the EU they reach 26,52 million. Striking is that while theItaly, according to data published today by Istat, sees its rate stable at around 11,5%. Germany it is also stable at 6,9% but in the last month the number of unemployed has increased by around 4 thousand units.

Eurostat then also signals the strong leap in the youth unemployment (under 25): 24% in the Eurozone (22,5% in February). Among the countries with an above-average youth unemployment rate, Italy stands out with 38,4%.
