Eurozone: unemployment at its highest at 11,4%, the PMI index improves

Unemployment is growing in the Eurozone, reaching a record rate of 11,4% in August - The total number of unemployed is 18,196 million - The PMI index on manufacturing activity improves, going from 45,1 points to 46,1 – Italy did well, from 43,6 to 45,7 points, and Germany, from 44,7 to 47,4.

New all-time high for the unemployment rate in the euro area, which rose to 11,4% in August from 11,3% in July, with an increase of 34 thousand unemployed. This was communicated by Eurostat, according to which in the Eurozone, within a year, the number of unemployed grew by 2,144 million units, bringing the total to 18,196 million.
On the other hand, considering the European Union of 27 states, the unemployment rate remained stable compared to July, at 10,5%, for a total of 25,466 million unemployed. 
The index PMI that measures manufacturing activity in the Eurozone, processed by Markit, improved in September, from 45,1 points in August to 46,1 points. The figure is slightly better than the forecasts, which gave it 46 points.
The performance of Germany was positive, from 44,7 to 47,4 points (against an expected 47,3), Spain also did well (from 44 to 44,5) and, above all, Italy, from 43,6 to 45,7 points (against an expected 44,1). Among the major economies, only the PMI index of France contracted, from 46 points to 42,7 (expected 42,6).
