Eurozone: unemployed down slightly, 35 fewer in February

According to data released by Eurostat, unemployment in the Eurozone remained stable at 11,9%, but the number of unemployed fell by 35 - In the European Union, however, the unemployment rate marked a slight decline to 10,6%.

Slight drop in unemployment in the Eurozone. This was revealed by Eurostat according to which the total number of unemployed in the currency union in February fell by 35 thousand units, while the unemployment rate remained stable at 11,9%. The statistics office has made slight adjustments to better than the first estimates, which indicated the unemployment rate at 12% since last October.

Looking at the whole European Union of 28, however, unemployment fell to 10,6% from 10,7% in January. In absolute terms, the number of unemployed fell by 65. The general picture, obviously, is the synthesis of profoundly different dynamics: in some countries, among which Cyprus, Greece and Italy stand out, in fact, unemployment has continued to grow.

In February, youth unemployment in the Eurozone fell to 23,5%, while in Italy it increased by one decimal to 42,3%.
