Eurozone, trade surplus grows: 20,3 billion in February

According to data released by Eurostat, in February the trade surplus of the currency union amounted to 20,3 billion against 14,4 billion in the same month of 2014 – House prices are growing: +1,1 % in the Eurozone, +2,6% in the EU.

According to the data reported by EurostatIndeed, the February currency union surplus stood at its level 20,3 billion, against 14,4 billion in the same month of the previous year. Exports reached 160,7 billion, up 4% on an annual basis, while imports experienced a slight increase to 140,5 billion, against 140 in February 2014.

On the other hand, the trade surplus of the European Union decreased, to 3,4 billion against 4,9 in the same month of 2014. Both flows grew: exports +2% to 138,2 billion, imports +3% to 134,8 billion.

Also on the rise house prices in the Eurozone which, according to Eurostat, grew by 1,1% on an annual basis in the fourth quarter of 2014. In the same period, prices in the EU increased by 2,6%. Compared to the third quarter of 2014, however, house prices fell slightly in the euro area (-0,1%) and remained stable in the EU. Prices continue to fall in Italy (-2,9%).
