Eurozone: trade surplus falls less than expected, 17,1 billion in March

The trade surplus of the Eurozone records a decline, albeit less than forecast. This was communicated by Eurostat, according to which in the month of March the trade balance of the euro area showed a surplus of 17,1 billion euros against the 21,9 billion of the same month of the previous year.

In any case, a surplus greater than the expectations of analysts, who had forecast a sharper decline, to 15,5 billion euros. In February the surplus was 14,2 billion euros.

Looking at the flows, in March exports recorded a drop of 1% on an annual basis, while in comparison with the month of February, the seasonally adjusted figure shows a drop of 0,5%. Imports, on the other hand, increased by 2% on an annual basis, while compared to February they recorded a decrease of 0,6%.
