Eurozone: December trade balance in surplus of 11,7 billion

Seasonally adjusted exports fell by 1,8% in the last month of 2012, while imports fell by 3%.

Eurozone: December trade balance in surplus of 11,7 billion

In December, the trade balance of the Eurozone recorded a surplus of 11,7 billion euros, an increase compared to the 8 billion recorded in the same period of 2011. Last November, however, the surplus was 13 billion. This was announced by Eurostat, the Statistical Institute of the European Union. 

Seasonally adjusted exports fell by 1,8% in the last month of 2012, while imports fell by 3%. Looking at the entire European Union, a deficit of 0,7 billion euro was recorded in November, against the deficit of 0,2 billion last year. Exports fell by 1,9% and imports by 1,6%.
