GDP growth in the fourth quarter of 2012 slowed on a quarterly basis by 0,6% in the Eurozone and by 0,5% in the EU as a whole. Figures – in line with the preliminary data – which compare respectively with -0,1% and +0,1% recorded in the third quarter. This is what emerges from the second estimate released today by Eurostat.
Compared to the fourth quarter of 2011, GDP fell by 0,9% in the Eurozone and by 0,6% in the EU27 (respectively -0,6% and -0,4% in the third quarter). In 2012, GDP growth slowed overall by 0,6% in the Eurozone and by 0,3% in the EU27.
